Visage CS 3D - Three systems installed in Q2 2008

Hicks Associates have successfully installed three CS 3D systems in the second quarter of 2008. The Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, North Wales took delivery of their system in April as did the Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth. The third system was delivered to Nuffield Health where the thin client architecture is perfect for central deployment at their data centre for use at all of their hospitals in the UK.

Acuo DICOM Router solves Mobile Scanner Worklist Problem

When the mobile scanner turns up at your hospital wouldn't it be great if it could simply become another modality on your PACS/RIS network! The Acuo DICOM router with its HL7 interface does this automatically. Tell the scanner where it is today and as soon as its connected it becomes another modality on the local network, querying worklists from the RIS and sending images to PACS.

Acuo 'ADAM' Software Migrates PACS Data

Acuo DICOM Assisted Migration or ADAM has been successfully deployed by Hicks Associates to migrate DICOM data from a number of legacy PACS systems to a new PACS system. The powerful software ensures data is only copied from the old PACS after it has been reconciled and the DICOM tags mapped.

The Ability of ADAM to work in the background to a predefined schedule ensures that data is migrated efficiently. Data that cannot be fully reconciled is flagged to the operator for a final decision. Once the data has been migrated ADAM does a final check before before the legacy PACS is decommissioned.

More Hospital Networks Audited - "the PACS is slow!"

Hicks Associates network experts have been called in to audit and trouble shoot a number of networks in hospital across the UK and further afield in the last few months.

Usually the problem is reported as the "PACS is running slowly" . This, in our experience, is due to a number of factors. The first and most common is more usage of the PACS, the single slice CT has been replaced by a 64 slice machine and now we can easily do 2000 images per study! Genuine network problems are often caused by applications joining the network. VoIP telephony saves money, video conferenced MDT meetings save time but both grab network resources.

Hospital IT departments often do not have the people or the time to do an in-depth network investigation so give us a call.
